rocking chair redo

i'm back as promised with some pretty cute rocking chairs if i do say so myself!
a friend picked up the child sized one from a market and gave it to me saying "i just know you can do something with this!"
so, not wanting to disappoint, painted the little baby right up in the softest of greens- 1/4 strength Peaceful Bay to be exact. Kacey's room is painted in it and i so love it. it really is a peaceful colour too! you can see her room here.
Mumma chair got the white treatment. and a shabby up of course.
both chairs are now living in my classroom- i'm team teaching a Grade One class with a friend this year, and we're pretty excited about it!
i have made many a raggy quilt, but never a raggy cushion, and the teacher chair just had to have some colour.
they make a cute pair don't you think?
before pic....
back to work tomorrow ARGG!!

another raggy quilt & instagram

good morning lovelies. it's been a long time since i've posted! the craziness of term 3 is behind us, and we are enjoying the holidays muchly! a few weeks ago, i spent a Sunday afternoon whipping up this raggy quilt. it's quite large, but i used larger squares, so it only took about 3-4 hours.
i used some leftover fabric from Kacey's quilt, a blue chenille quilt, a quilt cover, white sheet to back it with and doilies. the centrepiece is from an old IKEA cushion cover. all laid out and happy with my design.
all put together! a pretty birdy doily sits at the top of the quilt.
great to throw over the end of the lounge or pop at the end of a bed.
my next couple of quilts will be for friend's babies due next year! can't wait to find out what they are having and get to work!
seeing i've been so time poor of late, i've been getting into good old instagram. here are a few pics i've added recently.
i'd love you to follow along, and would love to follow you back! i'm not sure how to add a link, but i'm under Lilies for Kate :)

patchwork tablecloth

good morning all!
i tackled the patchwork quilt yesterday from start to finish yesterday.
love projects that can be done in one sitting!
i'm super pleased with how it turned out.

here are the fabrics (vintage sheets mostly) i chose.
i found the embroidered white cotton in Spotlight on special.
i used the largest quilting square, and worked out that i would need
4 squares x 7 squares to cover our 1m x 2m dining table.
i laid out the squares out on the lounge room floor to work out the best
configuration.
such a happy tablecloth!
this would also be a cute curtain idea, and could easily be turned into a quilt one day
if i wish :)
