rocking chair redo

i'm back as promised with some pretty cute rocking chairs if i do say so myself!
a friend picked up the child sized one from a market and gave it to me saying "i just know you can do something with this!"
so, not wanting to disappoint, painted the little baby right up in the softest of greens- 1/4 strength Peaceful Bay to be exact. Kacey's room is painted in it and i so love it. it really is a peaceful colour too! you can see her room here.
Mumma chair got the white treatment. and a shabby up of course.
both chairs are now living in my classroom- i'm team teaching a Grade One class with a friend this year, and we're pretty excited about it!
i have made many a raggy quilt, but never a raggy cushion, and the teacher chair just had to have some colour.
they make a cute pair don't you think?
before pic....
back to work tomorrow ARGG!!

purple school benches & table

good morning all.
here are some pieces i painted up for the school a couple of months back.
only got round to sanding/sealing the table and taking pics yesterday.
it all went off to the school this morning.
i really enjoyed painting the benches in this fabulous colour.
you might remember the huge school desk complete with ink wells
 table and benches before....

more furniture for the school

good afternoon all!
i've cut back my gorgeous tulips, and transferred them to this pretty milk glass vase
i found at the markets last Sunday. i'm hoping to get few more days enjoyment out of them,
although it's back to school and work tomorrow!

the hubs and i have been busy painting the last few days. all ready
for another delivery. this piece is my fav. it's going in the Principal's Office,
and will be used to store tea and coffee supplies.
i'll be honest- Mike did most of the work on this one! it was a big job.
the old metal handles were replaced with these pretty glass knobs.
the entire inside was also painted. the shelves are removable.

cabinet before....
another table for the staff room,
(couldn't find the before for this one! just think mission brown and green!)
old cupboard with doors missing. great storage.
i've painted up one of these before-
you can see what it looked like here.
Mike cut the legs off this desk to turn it into a coffee table.
really love how it turned out!

table & bookcase makeover

here is an old pine table and little bookcase i finished off over the weekend.
i dragged both items into our dining room to take a few pics before
losing the afternoon light.

both the table and bookshelf were painted and heavily shabbied as requested.
that's my gorgeous aqua leather camera bag you can see on the bottom shelf.
i'm so in love with it.
Margo over at 3 Annies is the talented designer. you can find her
facebook page here. tell her i sent you! so worth a visit!
with school holidays just around the corner, i plan on doing alot
more painting in that lovely aqua! my absolute fav colour!
(apart from white, white and white!)

i picked up that awesome aqua glass jar from a discount store!
somehow i seemed to have lost the before pics!
they were just ugly pine anyway. you're not missing out on much!

a SPLASH of high gloss red

happy Monday all!
stopping in quickly to show you what i finished yesterday.
this awesome old school desk has now got the high gloss treatment.
definitely not my colour, but how vibrant and happy does it look?!
Perfect for a school entry. it will have a hugh wall mounted TV
above it showing off photos of what the students have been up to.
6 kiddies would have one sat at this doing their school work.
and each had a place to pop their slate and ink well.
their was no dragging this baby inside to photograph!

before....
i'm scooting out the door to grab fresh bread and lamingtons from
our local bakery for today's school lunches!
Have a great day!
