painting silver plate

i love to experiment painting on surfaces other than timber.
i have done many metal chairs, but have always wanted to have a go at
doing up some pretty silver plated items.
all these pieces were found in different op shops on one of my
hunting expeditions.
( and i'm planning on doing a little 'hunting today too ;)
yes, all white again, but think some of these would have looked gorgeous
with a lick of pink paint too.
the round tray is quite big and perfect for a tea party or breaky in bed!
the pretty detailed edging shows up beautifully through the white
don't you think?

i wonder what i'll find today.....
oh, and i'll be sure to let you know the date of my YARD sale
as soon as i do!!

    And to think I threw away some old silver plate trays because they looked so bad! The white really brings out the detail on them.

    I too would love to know the steps you went through to get this finish. I picked up a lovely pair of serving dishes with silver plate lids which have seen better days. I would love to do this to them.
