i found this coffee/ side table by chance on eBay.
the owner lived just up the road from me.
i wouldn't normally go for smokey coloured glass,
but i knew this would look great with a paint.

another paint found on the 'mistint' trolley!
it's a soft white with a hint of grey. looks great up against the
glass i think.
i love how large the weave in the wicker is. and not a single break.

it only got a very light sand. just enough to show up some of the dark timber underneath.
i think it helps balance out the darkness of the glass.

Mike is painting the girl's rooms these holidays, and it is in full swing!
the colour they chose will be on the walls by the end of the morning.
they have been a part of the whole process- cleaning their ceiling fans, covering
furniture, washing the walls, vacuuming etc. now the fun part can begin!
i've been hiding out in the garage painting furniture- some for my yard sale,
and some 'freshening' up of existing furniture in Kacey's room.
it's time for that coffee!

Nice makeover, Kate. Good thinking hiding out in the garage...furniture painting is much more interesting than wall painting! Can't wait to see the pics of your girls room makeovers :)
ReplyDeleteOohh stop teasing us about your yard sale!!!
ReplyDeletenice, you might also want to add a coat of paint under the glass...a soft pink or maybe a pale color....just thinking!!!
