while the girls were playing out the front of our house after school this afternoon,
i took a few snaps of the new colour that is popping up everywhere.

love how you can see the bottle brush flower unfolding here. they look like little
pony tails :)

it's raining...

it's going to be a wet weekend.
but it's very welcome.
here are some pics of my happy garden.

i am definitely no gardener.
as you can see, i only grow the tough stuff!
i've left my wet slippers at the laundry door.
it's the perfect "stay inside in your dressing gown" day.
happy weekend to you ;)

Outside Colour

it's a bright and sunny day up here in Brisbane today which is a nice change from the bucket loads of rain we have had.
it's so nice to step outside and see the sun shining on everything. the garden is so lush and green and the flowers are so happy looking!

this vintage sheet looks great as a tablecloth on my outdoor table. this is where we had our 1st meal for the year ( a BBQ breaky- what else!!) with some close friends.

it poured through the night and my succulents are still holding a little of the rain.

i found these gorgeous striped cushions in the sales :)

the bright 'red riding hood' climber from G'pa's garden still as happy in our garden.

my pretty plumbago grows like crazy out near the pool. i love sitting here while the girls swim.

a little limp from last night's down pour, but still so soft and dainty.

mirrored tags & garden pics

i have enjoyed some time in the garden over the weekend, and took some snaps of what i've planted and what is growing happily in our back yard. this vine is thriving along my timber fence and the flowers are coming out in gorgeous bunches

i got these pretty soft pink daisies from the markets

i finally decided on lavender and rosemary for my claw foot bath. it smells divine! if you look carefully, you can see our cat Heidi sunning herself underneath :)

my hydrangas are very happy in this lovely old Norco milk box i found on eBay for $1

and i have been to Ikea- again!! i will never tire of that wonderful store. i was so excited to find that they had put out all their Christmas stock. i found these mirrored tags and decided to tie some of them to the tops of these jars. they look so sweet! at $5.99 for a pack of 3 stars, hearts or angels, they are a perfect pressie topper too.

of course i had to add some to these old jars as well
here are all the spoils from my very quick visit to Ikea before closed on Saturday afternoon. i couldn't resist the Christmas paper with matching gift tags, the cherub cards or the red and white ribbon.

it's hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner! now i have my gift wrap sorted, it's time to start thinking Christmas pressies...
